CRON’s competitively priced, ground-breaking HDI prepress solutions are designed to support the needs of today’s packaging converters, delivering superior quality output and maximum efficiency for a wide range of flexible packaging and label applications.

 

Until now, prepress solutions for the Flexo and Letterpress markets have been costly and expensive to maintain. As a result, many label and packaging converters and printers were forced to outsource their pre-press requirements.

 

CRON’s competitively priced HDI solutions are a game changer. Now plate production can be brought in-house, significantly reducing plate costs and drastically lowering lead times. Available in three different models, CRON HDI products benefit from more than 25 years of technological development and come as a complete package, with integrated ablation dust filter system and an open TIFF interface that accepts files from all leading design and workflow systems.

 

The new HDI Flexo H+ series models feature high power lasers that deliver almost double the production speed of previous models, and can achieve resolutions up to 9600 dpi. This makes CRON H+ models ideal for fine labelling and packaging work.

All model formats in the CRON HDI Flexo range come with market-leading precise laser technology, yielding standard resolutions of 5080 dpi. Producing incredibly smooth gradations and superbly round dots whatever the output speed, the CRON HDI Flexo range brings digital image control to Flexo and Letterpress plate imaging.

  • Its unique yet simple design allows minimum handling of the plate material, minimising waste without any compromise in quality.

 

  • The HDI 2000 covers an extensive range of wide-format applications such as flexible packaging, corrugated and folding carton printing, supporting the common large plate size of 2032 x 1270mm, nevertheless maintaining a convenient compact footprint.

 

  • The HDI Flexo 2000 comes with a built-in plate loading platform, while semi-automated plate loading further simplifies machine operation.

 

  • The easy operation avoids plate damage, while the drum automatically sets balance block positioning for optimum drum stability.

 

  • The HDI Flexo 2000 is an excellent low-cost solution for high-quality plate production, supporting thermal film, digital polyester-back flexo and letterpress plates.

 

  • As with all HDI devices, this model is available in four variants with resolutions from 4000 to 9600 dpi and an exposure speed of 1.3 to 5.7 square metres per hour, (dependent on plate sensitivity).
